More and more contractual requirements are calling out the CUI program.

While the NISPOM does not address the protection of CUI, it does state that CUI requirements come within scope of DCSA security reviews when there is a contractual requirements. Guess what? The DD Form 254 is a contractual requirement and many are describing contractor CUI program actions.
